Drama Training

My educational work includes many productions, courses (including Stage Design), theatre projects and contextual studies for London’s leading drama colleges, including RADA, Webber Douglas, The Central School of Speech and Drama, the Slade School of Fine Art and ArtsEd London, where I had the opportunity to direct Brecht’s Mother Courage (2001) and Genet’s The Balcony (2002). I teach MA courses at RADA/King’s College, London and have lectured at City University. On my return from Greece in 1998, I was invited to give a lecture on directing Shakespeare in translation at St Catharine’s College, Cambridge. I am pleased to hold the joint posts of Course Leader of the RADA MA Theatre Lab and Associate Director of the RADA/Birkbeck MA in Text and Performance.

Through my close collaboration with ArtsEd, dating back to 1987, I have presented the British premières of two plays by Poland’s most outstanding contemporary dramatist and poet, Tadeusz Różewicz: The Trap (1991) and Mariage Blanc (New End, London. 1995). And in 1998, to mark the playwright’s centenary, I directed a co-production between The Acting Company at ArtsEd and Cherub of Bertolt Brecht’s The Life of Edward the Second of England. It played in London at BAC, The Place, Riverside Studios and on a UK tour.
